Payments can be reversed by a user with permission to reverse payments. Permissions are managed in SETTINGS.

Go to the Transactions Tab on the loan account.

You may need to scroll left in order to see the Action menu for the payment you wish to reverse.

Now select the Action menu for the payment you wish to reverse. 

Select 'Reverse payment'

Add a reason for the reversal and select the Reverse Payment button.
